The war within….

From the minute we are born, we all are in constant war with our surroundings and within ourselves. It’s the rule of Nature. Survival is not an easy task. It requires continuous struggle that may remind you of one of the famous Darwinian sayings, “Struggle for existence”. Life is our best teacher. We are constantly struggling to improve ourselves to better suit our needs or dreams. The needs and the dreams may be the same or different. We also struggle to understand ourselves, and then there comes the famous war between the heart and mind. We face many more challenges like social anxiety, peer pressure, depression, mental health problem, etc., which may push us to adopt bad habits like drinking and drug abuse.

All these can be a lot to take in. Life is dynamic, and each time it throws in a new challenge. No rule book or self-help book can teach us what to do and how to handle it all. We break, learn, cry and move on. You will always find a rainbow at the end of every storm. Nothing is constant in our lives. Every bad situation will pass. We cannot control everything in life. Never let your past mistakes affect you. We are humans, and we learn from our mistakes. It’s also ok to not be ok. We can step back, look at the problem, and strategize to tackle it by breaking it down into smaller portions or seek help. It’s never over till we decide to stop trying. Always remember, every new day comes with a new opportunity to learn and grow. This war within us is a continuous process and believe me, if you keep trying, you will succeed in everything you wish for. We may dream of becoming a person we want to, may even succeed or fail in it, but keep trying to be that person. It may happen sooner or later. It’s just a matter of time, and we must never compare our pace with anyone else’s.

We are beautifully flawed and unique. We should also never regret trying anything new at any point in our lives. At the end of the inner turmoil and external struggles, you will be proud of who you have become. The journey teaches us many things, and those valuable assets will make you a better person. Diamonds wouldn’t have existed if they avoided all the pressure that they went through to become one. We all are born fighters in our own way. We all have it in us. We may be weak, fragile, insecure about our future or ourselves, and not up to the mark of what standards others have put forth in front of us, but we know we can keep trying to better ourselves. Our competition is with ourselves and no one else. We must only thrive on being better than what we were yesterday. In this process, we may have to leave a lot behind to move forward. It’s completely ok to do so. Sometimes, we cannot change people and our surroundings, but we can definitely choose what we take in. We give power to people to affect us. If you choose not to get affected by it all, nothing can stop you! Always take in the good and leave out the rest. We must fight for what belongs to us. Never give up on that. No one will ever give us what we deserve, and it’s a constant war that we need to win every day. So, don’t ever fear the war that is about to take over your life. Face it heads on, and it will make you a stronger and a better person. Always remember to love yourself, be yourself and be proud of all your accomplishments. No one can be you. You are beautiful and unique. Everything will eventually be fine, and you are always loved by the people who genuinely care for you.
